Are 21 st century learners more prepared for their lives as adults because of technology?
The 20th Century has seen rapid changes in the types and use of technology which has greatly impacted socially, academically and economically. With each “new wave of technological innovation” children and adults have had to adjust and adapt. Children have shown a great flexibility in their adaption. “The most pervasive of the technologies with educational applications are the Internet and World Wide Web.” (Susan Imel) To investigate these ideas about 21st Century learners I have narrowed my focus to the question, “Are 21st Century learners more prepared for their lives as adults because of technology?” I have chosen this topic as I want to know more about the changes from the past to the present and what will happen in the future. Technology has had many changes; computers, internet and mobile phones.
